New review published on the role of exotic pets in biological invasions

A review on the role of exotic pets in biological invasions has just been published thanks to a longstanding collaboration with Dr. Lucas Wauters and the University of Insubria in Varese, Italy.
Using squirrels native to SE Asia as a case study, we show how invasions resulting from the exotic pet trade can harm native species, spread disease to both native species and humans, as well as increase human-wildlife conflict by damaging crops and property.
