TWS features Mt. Graham Red Squirrel Research

Jan. 7, 2021

KCRL research was recently covered by writers at the Wildlife Society, featuring the work of master's students, Deandra Jones and Hejie Xu. Both students are examining the effects of anthropogenic disturbance on squirrels. Jones compares parasite loads between native and nonnative species and so far, she's found that nonnative species carry much higher parasite loads, which may pose a threat to native species. Xu is working toward understanding how road traffic could also affect the endangered subspecies. Click here to read the full story.
